Assessment Criteria
To achieve your award, you must complete all 5 Life Skills Challenges, as well as 12 tricks of your choice from the Level 2 Trick List.

Challenge 1 - Handling & Health
- Perform a health check by running your hands along your dogs body as well as inspecting their paws, teeth/gums and ears. The dog should be happy to be handled without any signs nervousness or aggression.
- Stand (dog to stand on cue from a sit or down position. This can be in front of or beside the handler)
- Dog to remain in a sit or down position whilst handler moves at least 5 steps away. The dog should stay for a minimum of 30 seconds before the handler returns to them to reward/release.
- Dog to come when called from a minimum of 12 feet away. This should be done outside but no distractions are required. Use of a long line is permitted.
- Dog to walk with a loose lead (outside) for 30 seconds with at least one turn included. No distractions are required. They may walk on either side of the handler. A tight heel position is not required but the lead needs to remain loose and the dog should be paying attention to the handler.

- Fetch my shoes (dog to fetch both shoes/slippers on cue)
- Achoo! (dog to fetch a tissue from a tissue box and give it to handler on a sneeze cue)
- Hold an object in mouth for 5 seconds
- Stand while handler walks in a circle around dog
- Roll out a carpet/mat/towel/blanket with nose
- Take a note or item to another person at least 6 feet away
- Push a football with nose (at least 3 pushes in a row)
- Open a door
- Close a door
- Open a drawer
- Close a drawer
- Drop a toy on cue (either onto the floor or into your hand)
- Head down (dog to place chin on the floor on cue)
- Pick up a dropped item from the floor and place into your hand
- Get washing out machine (dog to take 3 items out of machine and give to handler)
- Pick a card from deck (dog to pick a single card from a fanned deck of at least 6 cards)
- Figure 8 through legs (handler to remain still whilst dog weaves through their legs in a figure of eight pattern)
- Hand signals (dog to perform any three tricks using hand signal cues only)
- Distance (dog to perform any three tricks in a row at least 6 feet away from the handler)
